Industrial Equipment Buying Checklist
A single-page checklist covering scope, standards, guarantees, testing, spares and warranty — the items most often missed in real tenders.
Use this before any RFQ is issued. Every item is here because we have seen it forgotten on a real project.
Scope — battery limits, interface points, exclusions written out in full.
Standards & codes — the specific editions that apply (not just 'latest applicable').
Performance guarantees — measurable, with test conditions and remedies for shortfall.
Factory acceptance test (FAT) — location, witnessed by whom, pass/fail criteria.
Site acceptance test (SAT) — conditions, duration, acceptance criteria.
Spares — commissioning spares, two-year operational spares, critical spares.
Warranty — length, start trigger, response times, exclusions.
Documentation — as-built drawings, O&M manuals, training records, digital deliverables.
Payment terms — milestones tied to physical or documentary events, not calendar dates.
